YAG Laser for carbon treatment
A carbon laser peeling facial (carbon treatment) is the latest peeling treatment with laser technology and very popular in the USA. A carbon lotion is used as a photointensifier to achieve several therapeutic-cosmetic effects on the skin using the yag laser.
A medical activated charcoal lotion is applied to the skin and allowed to dry for about 15 minutes. A Q-switched Nd:YAG laser is then used to heat and cause implosions of the charcoal particles, which leads to the breakdown of the charcoal into small particles.
YAG Laser
Carbon treatment has the following positive effects on the treated skin:
- Firms the skin and helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles
- Provides skin rejuvenation
- Stimulates collagen production and improves skin tone
- The pores are cleansed of sebum
- Reduces large pores
- Shrinks the oil-producing sebaceous glands, making the skin less oily (oil control) and reducing the development of new acne
- Removes superficial dead skin cells
- Kills and removes acne bacteria, helping to treat moderate to severe acne
- Prevents future acne breakouts
- Reduces hyperpigmentation such as cafe'-au-laut spots
- Helps skin gain a new vibrant glow
- In order for you to achieve better results, we recommend at least three treatments approximately two weeks apart.
- Removes birthmarks
- Removing cosmetic tattoo

How does YAG laser REMOVE tattoos?
Light from the YAG laser is emitted at a specific wavelength. Different tissues and substances absorb light of different wavelengths to different degrees.
The different colors of the tattoo will absorb light and the tattoo pigment converts the light into heat energy, which breaks down the pigment in the tattoo. The broken down tattoo pigment is then removed by the body's immune cells.
How many treatments are needed with Yag Laser?
The tattoo becomes smaller and less visible after each treatment with the YAG laser. The number of treatments needed to remove a tattoo will vary depending on several factors, such as how deep the tattoo is in the skin, what colors, how long ago the tattoo was made, etc. However, 4-10 treatments are usually needed, approximately 8 weeks apart, to allow the body to successfully transport away pigments that are destroyed by the treatment.
For tattoo removal, pulsed laser light, also called Q-switch, is used. The pulses used to remove tattoos are measured in nanoseconds. The tattoo pigment to be removed.
Q-switched Nd:YAG laser (532 nm) YAG laser with a shorter wavelength is best suited for red, yellow and orange colors and removing freckles
